I usually take a break from blogging on Sundays, but I didn't write on Saturday either!  I missed it.

I've officially been asked to be a ward accompanist for sacrament meeting.  Like I've said, they're desperate.  I actually thought I'd play pretty well yesterday, but I didn't.  I decided to use both hands and it was a bit of a wreck but I'm getting better.

So yesterday in Primary we had a lesson on keeping the Sabbath day holy.  Somehow, and to nobody's surprise, we got way off topic when Sister Gerlach (my co-teacher) turned to the last page of our "Sabbath Day Book" and showed the children the final picture of an idea for appropriate Sunday activities:

Everyone in the class thought this was an old man.  I'm thinking lady?
Sister G:  Is visiting the elderly a good activity for Sunday?

Class:  YEEEES!

Sister G:  What does it look like this girl is doing here?

Dash:  She's bringing the old man a birthday card.

Sister G:  That sounds nice.

Then everyone begins talking about birthdays -- Sister Gerlach included.

Sister G:  I've had a lot of birthdays.  Every year I get a little older.  Do you know how old I'll be on my next birthday?  83!

After a brief pause, due to the children's seeming confusion, a question arrose:

Hallie:  Sister Gerlach, are you gonna die soon?

Me:  Uh!

*awkward moment*

Sister G:  Well, I don't know.  I might have more to do here so we'll just have to see.

It took everything I had not to burst into tears of laughter.  Aww, children and their innocence.
