Help

Ok, friends. If you didn't read the last blog post, please click HERE before continuing. We're preparing for another yard sale/bake sale fundraiser. If anyone has anything they want to get rid of and would like to donate, please let me know. I can come pick it up. We're looking to do this on September 10th, so we've got some time.

Also, we'll be doing a pancake breakfast at some point. Possibly October? This will include a silent auction. We have a few people who have offered some great services and items to be auctioned off. If anyone has any other ideas, that would be great.

I just wanna say thank you, again, to all of you wonderful, generous people who are always so willing to help. We have the best friends, neighbors, ward, and family. We wouldn't have our son, and we would have no hope of adopting again without you. Thank you.

Guess WHA-aat.....

We were contacted by another birth mother!!!!! You guys. This is a crazy miracle. We didn't even know our profile on adoption.com was still active! WHAT?! So. This wonderful, selfless mother is considering us and one other family to adopt her.... ready?..... twin. girls. People! Twins are my dream!!! I cannot possibly overuse exclamation points or caps lock right now because I'm just so freaking exCITED!!!!!!!!!!!

And now I temper my excitement because...... well, we're still paying for the first one. Blech. Adoption is WAY too expensive. Somebody needs to fix this. Luckily! This time we have a lot more notice so we can apply for grants and do more fundraising than before. The babies are due January 31st (although they're twins so it's expected that they'd be born early) and the birth mother lives in New York. However, she's thinking about moving out west. EEE! We'd love to help her in any way we can.

Now, even though we haven't officially been chosen, the possible expense is so great that we can't afford to wait. We're going to begin another adoption fund right away. Here is what we've got going on (you'll notice some repeats from last year):

Haircuts for Donations: Schedule an appointment with me to get a haircut and only pay what you feel like paying, so long as you pay SOMETHING.

Eyelash Extensions: I'm going to lower my regular price of $85 to $65 for a full set. Fills are $55.

Lawn Mowing: For $15, I'll mow your front and back yard. Put me to work.

Homemade Bread: One loaf of delicious homemade bread for $5, or 2 for $8. It's for a good cause, people!

Sometime in the future, we're going to have another yard sale/bake sale, as well as a pancake breakfast. If anyone has other ideas for fundraisers, please let me know. We don't want to just take donations because we'd prefer to work for it, so give us lots and lots of ideas. :)

P.S. I promise to be better about blogging.
